Web3 community launches crypto humanitarian campaign for Israel
A collective of local companies and leaders in the Web3 space have established a crypto humanitarian campaign for Israel. Called “Crypto Aid Israel,” the campaign aims to raise funds to provide food, shelter, hygiene, and medical products for displaced and affected Israelis.
According to a press release shared with CryptoSlate, Crypto Aid Israel has launched a multisig wallet trusted to members of the local Web3 community. The wallet is designed to collect donations in multiple cryptocurrencies, including Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), Tether (USDT), and USD Coin (USDC). The group is currently establishing partnerships with a leading Israeli bank and several government agencies to ensure swift and efficient distribution of the donations.
The management of the collected financial assets falls under the purview of Fireblocks, a prominent entity in crypto asset security. A policy has been set in place that requires the consent of at least four of the seven signatories to authorize the transfer of funds out of the wallet.
To safeguard against phishing threats and cyber-attacks, donors are strongly advised to confirm the wallet address on the official Crypto Aid Israel website before donating. This measure is part of a rigorous security protocol designed to ensure the safe passage of resources to the intended recipients.
A consortium of local leaders in the Web3 space, including 42Studio, MarketAcross, Collider Ventures, and CryptoJungle, backs the initiative. It aims to leverage the potential of blockchain technology to ease the ongoing humanitarian fallout.
The campaign is a real-time example of how cryptocurrencies can extend beyond traditional financial systems to provide essential aid in crisis scenarios.
